Welcome to Meet Me at the River Women's Ministries
Thank you for visiting my website. I am Vanessa Betancourt, a minister of the Gospel. I am a licensed minister with the Church of the Nazarene, a wonderful denomination for more than 100 years. I am proud to be part of God's global church not only within my denomination but in serving Him in others.
Some people ask me where I developed the name of my ministry; Meet me at the River. In the Biblical days women met at the river daily for many things; washing and getting water for their daily needs including cooking. The time at the river for women also served as a time for fellowship between the women. I believe that is a very important aspect in our lives; the need for fellowship with our sisters in Christ.
The significance of water was also a consideration in the name. Water signifies; cleansing, renewal and serenity.
Cleansing:
Jesus cleanses us from our sins, He makes our hearts clean and forgives us from our sins.
Renewal:
Water quenches our thirst and allows us to keep moving. Jesus renews our soul, He fills our hearts transforms us into a brand new creature. The old is gone, we are new in Him.
Serenity:
I spent much of my childhood in the beautiful state of Maine and watching the water, whether in the ocean, a lake or river it is so peaceful. God gives us a peace in our lives that in the midst of situations and circumstances we can trust that He is in control. That serenity and peace is a beautiful gift from our Father.
I am available to speak at women's events including; retreats, conferences and banquets. Whether for a single day event or a weekend event please call to determine availability. I am also available for Sunday services at your church should I be visiting over a weekend.
